FF7 Script: Lucrecia's Cave & Flashback

"That voice? It can't be..."

"Lucrecia?"

Lucrecia:

"Vincent?"

(Vincent runs forward.)
|
|
Vincent:
|
"Lucrecia!"
|
|
Lucrecia:
|
"Stay back!"
|
[Flashback]
Gast, Hojo, Lucrecia, and Vincent walk into the Shin-Ra mansion. Vincent stops before entering, turns around, and looks up at the sky.
Vincent and Lucrecia talk as they walk through Nibelheim.
Vincent holds Lucrecia's hands just before the entrance of Nibelheim. Lucrecia jerks her hands away and runs out of the small town. Vincent reaches out for her and then lowers his head.
Vincent spots Lucrecia and Hojo hugging before the town entrance. He turns towards the screen and again lowers his head.

Vincent:

"If she is happy then...
I don't mind."
|
In the Nibelheim Inn, Lucrecia sits in a chair and rubs her stomach.
|
Vincent:
|
"I'm against it!!
Why experiment on humans!?"
|
|
Hojo:
|
"She and I are both scientists!!"
|
|
Vincent:
|
"After that,
A child was born to Lucrecia..."
|
|
Vincent:
|
"That child's name was
Sephiroth..."
|
Back in the inn, Lucrecia walks a bit and suddenly faints.
Vincent runs into the basement laboratory and confronts Hojo. They argue for a while until Hojo pulls out a gun and shoots Vincent. Vincent staggers for a moment and then he falls.
Hojo places Vincent on the lab table and starts experimenting on him.
Vincent awakens, gets off the table, and grips his head.

Vincent:

"Urrrrrrrrgh!!"

Vincent:

"This body is...
the punishment that's been given to
me..."
|
|
Vincent:
|
"I was unable...
to stop Professor Gast and Hojo...
And Lucrecia...I was unable to stop
them."

|
Vincent:
|
"All that I was able to do was
watch...
That is my punishment..."

[Flashback Ends]
|
|
Vincent:
|
"Lucrecia...
You're alive..."
|
|
Lucrecia:
|
"I wanted to disappear...
I couldn't be with anyone...
I wanted to die..."
"But the Jenova inside me
wouldn't let me die..."

|
Lucrecia:

"Lately, I dream a lot of Sephiroth...
My dear, dear child."
"Ever since he was born
I never got to hold him..."
"Not even once.
You can't call me his mother...
That...is my sin..."

(Vincent moves forward.)

Lucrecia:

"Back!!
Stay back!"
|
(Vincent stops.)
|
|
Lucrecia:
|
"Vincent...
Won't you please tell me?"

Vincent:

"What?"
|

Lucrecia:

"If Sephiroth is still alive?"
"I heard that he died five years ago.
But I see him in my dreams so often..."
"And I know that physically, like myself,
he can't die so easily."
"Please Vincent
tell me..."

(Cloud steps forward. Vincent motions him to stay back.)

Vincent:

"Lucrecia...
Sephiroth is dead..."

(Vincent looks to the side.)
