There is true respect and understanding between these two. Vincent admires the dark haired martial artist for her kindness towards everyone and understands how it feels for her to love someone who, because of some circumstance, is unable to return the affections. When the gang rescued Tifa from Mideel, Vincent was genuinely happy to see her safe and sound. Of course, everyone knew that her only real concern at the time was finding Cloud, and again, Vincent was supportive and willing to help her find the man she loved. When they finally discover a very mentally unstable Cloud in Mideel and Tifa insists she stay with him, Vincent understands and immediately assures her that they'll come back to check on them later. Like with Cloud, it appears in Advent Children previews that Vincent and Tifa's friendship remains intact and perhaps has even grown a little. We'll know soon enough for sure. Love Tifa, being warm and gentle at heart, could easily assist Vincent in getting past his feelings of guilt over Lucrecia. In return, he would support her in any of her endeavors. Both of them are a mix of strength and sensitivity, so they would balance each other out and be able to take turns in playing the supportive role.
