Adopt ¤ Survey ¤ Strange But True

One of my favorite things in the world is to find out some sort of weird or interesting fact. I just love the reactions I get from people when I retell my new found knowledge to them. Hopefully, you will enjoy these horrific, amazing, or just plain weird facts just as much as I do. If you know of some sort of odd fact or find any information to be false, let me know!

¤¤¤ Human Tails
On a rare occassion, a baby will be born with a short, boneless and hairless tail. Usually when this happens a doctor will remove it, but if it were left on, it would develop with the child's body and possibly grow hair. Apparently, all of us have small tails for a while when we are forming in our mother's womb, but we lose them (or at least are supposed to lose them) before we are born.

In 1827, a French music teacher introduced his idea of a language made up entirely of musical notes that could be played, sung, or spoken. Solresol was comprised of over 11,000 words and was meant to be a sort of universal language. The idea sounds kind of fun, but the words would be so boring.

¤¤¤ Cures of the Middle Ages
Medicine wasn't exactly painless and effective during the Middle Ages. In my opinion, some of the worst cures ever were invented during this time. For example, to cure:
(And please, don't attempt any of these remedies...)
1)A Toothache - Wear a magpie's beak around your neck.
2)Bubonic Plague - Two of the many suggested cures for this dreadful disease were to eat arsenic powder or shave a chicken's bottom and strap it to the sores caused by the disease.
3)Gout - A bandage coated with a mixture of Rosemary herb, honey, and goat's droppings.
